ireland road trip: dublin
Huddled in a stifling living room on Barton Ave. in Los Angeles, we pondered a map of Europe scattered with multicolored pushpins that plotted the path of our friends' upcoming trip through Europe. It was the summer of 2015, and starting in January, Josh and Ashley would be embarking on a year long journey dubbed "Yearope" during which they'd live and volunteer in a different country for 30-days at a time through programs like HelpX, WorkAway and World Packers.
Skip ahead 8 months or so, and I found myself on a plane bound for the Emerald Isle excited to reunite with friends and make new memories in a country I love. After touching down in Dublin, we collected our rental car and started our Irish road trip with a day in the city. Thanks to a little planning and pre-booked tickets (hint: skip the lines and maybe save a few Euro by booking online!), we packed the Guinness Storehouse, Trinity College and Library, chips and beer at Dublin's oldest pub and a tour of the Jameson Distillery all into roughly 10 hours.
After a restful night at our Airbnb, we set out on our week-long driving tour of the country.
